Société Générale Ghana Limited is a commercial bank in Ghana. The bank was incorporated in 1975 as a private company under the name Security Guarantee Trust Limited. In 1977 the bank commenced operations after it was granted a general banking licence by the Bank of Ghana. It was listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange on October 13th, 1995. In 2003 Société Générale, a French multinational banking group, acquired a controlling stake in the bank and subsequently changed the name to Société Générale Ghana. The bank has one of the biggest banking networks in Ghana with 37 fully networked branches across the country.
The bank’s retail services include current & savings accounts, loans & overdrafts, card services, international travel and personal services, foreign cash, travellers’ cheques, payment of subscriptions, investment products and others.
The corporate banking division provides services such as trade services, remittances, structured finance and treasury services.
